Heartbroken.

Thank you for all your kind comments, I hope Nico can be buried next to our old horse we had PTS in 2012. The others have all been to say their own bye bye, the two little ones were going m their little paddock, so they have been let out overnight so they can stand with him. When we left, they were all standing round him.
Yesterday he was his usual cheeky self:(

Hubby and daughter have just found Nico in the field dead. He was only 11, my best friend, gone.
RIP my very own black beauty.

So dreadfully sorry. If it's any consolation if it was due to a heart attack its over very quickly. I lost a horse with a heart attack in the field. THe YO was with him when he died and it was very quick for him, he trembled went down and was gone in a matter of seconds. When we eventually ploughed our way through rush hour and arrived at the yard after being called by the YO, Dad and I were told by my OH that he had gone, just that the YO didn't want to tell me over the phone.

It hit me hard as it was so unexpected but I took comfort in the fact that there was no sweat under his rug, no pawing hoof marks in the mud to say he'd been thrashing around or anything. His banks in his stable had been untouched. My horse was 12.

The vet said its quite common with horses and its usually to do with a rupture of the Aorta.

For a pony who has never left her other field, she has settled in her new field really well, she has Winnie with her Hubbys little section A, and meeting the others over the fence.

So sorry to hear about Nico. Great big hugs.

Welome to Sky I hope she settles in well and gives you lots of Joy,

For Nico:
