I’ve just seen a lovely post on Facebook.

I hope that I don’t get my knuckles rapped for sharing it. Just look at the smiles on the faces of that couple as they ride out and hang around with the big horses. What a lovely day .

I was just looking at this too. My favourite is of the guy drinking a cuppa while one of the horses looks on. Just a lovely, chill out, pic which, to me, epitomises that its not (just) about the riding, its about equine company

They do very well to sit on such broad horses too with older hips.

CHH is quite near me though I’ve never been. I have creaky hips...

A few years ago I took my mum (then in late 70s) to Murthwaite Green which is quite near for a beach ride

I've ridden there and, despite the horse being a good two hands taller than my then-share horse, he wasn't actually that much wider. He was probably narrower than my current cob.

Are they relatively narrow because they are bred to plough, etc? I have heard there are two types of Cleveland Bay, those bred to ride and those bred to carriage and the carriage horses have a tendency to be slab sided.
