heat but not lame

Horse was lame for 24 hours (roughly) last week. He had heat along hoof wall and on the bulbs of heel and behind knee.

Then right as rain!!

Now this evening has heat in foot - hoof wall not heels- but is still sound.

Any ideas?? :/

Assume the heat is in the same hoof as last week? Does he have a stronger than normal digital pulse? Any signs of bruising? He might have an abscess brewing.

Could be an abscess.

Horse could be brave or masking lamness.
How is he on a tight circle?

Its better top be over cautious.

Fine on circle and has hoolis when turned out and not lame at all when galloping around, turning on sixpence etc !!
