Heat stroke and weak back legs?

OH thinks dog (10yo staffy) has a bit of heat stroke after the weekend, dog also seems to have weak back legs, can't get up stairs and can't jump in and out of car like he usually does?

Are these two things connected?

Or totally separate issues?

What symptoms made you think he had heatstroke? Do you think his back legs seem stiff or just wobbly and uncoordinated?

Our old dog suffered from canine peripheral vestibular syndrome, which makes the dog seem like it has had a stroke. Our dog's back legs kept giving way. It is only a temporary problem and usually resolves itself in a few days, although medication can help:

Personally, I would take the dog to the vet for a check up, to make sure it is nothing more sinister.

Well OH thought he had a temperature and said the dog's had heat stroke a few times in the past.

Not sure about stiff but he just couldn't jump like he usually does, couldn't seem to use them properly and seemed bit wobbly and reluctant to walk properly even.

He was in the sun a bit at the weekend and panting far more than usual. Thanks will have a look

We took out dog to a show one day, 2 hours drive away on a sunday. He stayed all day under the trailer in the shade, had plenty of water, but in the car on the way home he suddenly couldnt breathe properly, panting and then he poo'd himself

we were in the middle of nowhere and all we could do was drive home as quick as we could to the emergency vets. We drove straight there, trailer and ponio in tow. He was unable to walk due to not being able to breathe properly. The vets put him straight ino a bath of cold water to try and reduce his temperature and we had to leave him there. It was awful. We were told it was touch and go whether he would survive but he did. He had heat stroke.

Please if you think your dog might have heat stroke in the future get him seen straight away. I wouldnt want anyone to go through that. we really thought he was going to die in the back of the car.
