Can anyone recommend a good and efficient heated cat bed. My 18 year old BSH is starting to feel the cold so I’ve been putting two long hot water bottles in her basket but I would much rather she have something on a low heat that stays warm all the time. I don’t have any heating on during the day in winter and she doesn’t have her sister to snuggle with anymore. She did try to rope Sebastian in but he was having none of it.

Do snuggle safe do plug in heated ones? I really want something that will stay the same temperature all night long. She loves the hot water bottles but even under a cover they go cold half way through the night.

Pretty much the same thing as above but a lot cheaper. We have them for plants but our arthritic cat uses them too over winter, with a piece of vet bed on them. She can't be prised off them come November...

Thank you, I’ve just had a look at the reviews and it seems quite good.

We have one for our senior cat. He’s not much interested generally but it uses very little power and maintains a constant warmth without being hot. We just put a thin fleece blanket or similar on top and I feel better knowing he has a warm option! I read a lot of reviews before buying it and decided that one best suited our needs.

Surely the important question is what size box is it delivered in.

Now if it was the Krays (aka the yard cats) I would have to agree but Sparkle is a bit of a princess and only the best raised off the ground large fluffy pink bed will suffice 😁 Boxes just aren’t her thing.

I don’t think so, but they stay warm a long time. We use them for our rabbits outside on very cold nights, and they’re still warm in the morning. I have been known to put them up my jumper when out in my coffee kiosk on cold days!

The downside is that we have two dogs, two cats and two rabbits that expect them in colder nights. They take 8 mins each to heat up, so it takes ages!

My mum used one of these for a stray cat that used to sleep outside. Unfortunately the microwave jambed on once (it was an ancient dial one) and the whole thing melted 😮

Iv'e got this one from Amazon Lindy and it's brilliant!

Very similar to the one Holly posted but with a removable fleecy/ velor type covering. Pictures suggest on all of them like this that the covering is quite thick, but they are not, they're thin, and because the heating wires run through the actual pad , the pads themselves are a little stiff and you can feel the wires ( bit like some of the electric blankets for people).
I put the pad in their bed and a fleecy thow on top, and the cats absolutely love it. The heat range is excellent and i've never needed it up high, normally leave between 1 and 4. A British would be too hot on a high setting.
You can time it too, which I like. When I bought mine in 2020 they were only £11 or so, and I thought for that price it was worth a go ,and I liked it so much I bought a spare !
Got mine on now, on number 2 setting, and there are 4 gremkitties all snuggled up on it :) xxxx

Thanks Shady, nice to have another personal recommendation. I hope you and the Gremkitties are well xx
All good Lindy love, but I miss the horses every day, and am so thankful that I have the mad Weims and my Grems to lift my spirit with their crazy antics, and to snuggle up to of an evening . Also hoping life is treating you and yours kindly . xxxx

*wanders in to go off on tangent, Shady she is BEAUTIFUL 😍😍😍😍

LL Sparkle 💖 completely deserves her own pink fluffy heated 4 poster with curtains for extra chilly nights 🤗
Thanks Little Elle😘😘. As you can see, Rosie finally grew into her ears (well sort of :D)

Have to say, as somebody who usually has a chunky , fat faced ,stompy British as part of my gang, that the name Sparkle is priceless . I love it ! 😹😻

She most definitely does, she keeps sitting on me much to Sebastian’s disgust. My lap belongs to him, nobody else and he’s not amused by her presence 🤣

Shady I didn’t name her, she was a rescue along with her half sister Blue Rose a full BSH who became Bluebell. I couldn’t think of anything that Sparkle would recognise so the name stayed 🤣 She is actually an Exotic so half Persian but looks nothing like Sebastian who is also an Exotic.

Crikey , very different!( and gorgeous) The first is not a full British? She has wonderful eyes and a lovely balanced face
I love the names some cats get. I've had Love in a Puff for a Birman with attitude far removed from such a delicate name, and Thomas Tank, which absolutely suited a BSH silver tabby :D xxx
Sparkle for a British beats all though😍😍 xxx

Sparkle is the little silver blue tabby, she’s half BSH and half Persian. She was 18 in June and still looks like a youngster. Sebastian is the fluffy blue and white one, same breed but looks very Persian. If you look closely you can see he has no eyes. He was born with retinal atrophy and was destined to be PTS so of course I had to have him. Now 15 and also going strong ❤️

For comparison, theses were my two full BSH’s The first is Blue, Sparkles half sister that I lost in May and the silver is Holly, lost as we went into lockdown. Both 17 so good ages for shorthairs. In their memories I support a local cat charity and the food they would have eaten goes directly to them from an Amazon wish list.

That's a really lovely thing to do regarding food Lindy. xx
You have , and have had, the most gorgeous cats who have lived to an amazing age. Love Blue and Holly. xxxx
I lost my lilac boy when he was far too young. Bad breeding, which caused a respiratory problem that eventually put too much strain on his system. He was the most affectionate and gentle cat. Loved all the Grems and adored the two chinchilla Persians we had then . All three gone now , and although I have promised myself another BSH I don't have much faith left in breeders here. Here's one I found of Pas Touche ( slangy french for don't touch) and Eeps , one of the chinchillas as a kitten

Absolutely beautiful Shady, I‘m sorry you lost them so young xx I really am a sucker for a grey/silver/blue cat yet all mine bar Holly came to me in dire circumstances and weren’t planned at all so I like to think it was fate we ended up together.
I'm also a sucker for the same colour cats and my last remaing Persian is grey and white. He came as a pair I fostered , and of course I ended up keeping them both !
First BSH was a young rescue and i'd like to do another, but having always had the Grems I have to be careful bringing in full grown cats as opposed to kittens. Certain breeds do well with adult additions , but the more hyper breeds can be tricky.
Found another photo of Pas Touche and my other Chinchilla Persian Smidgen. Such a beautiful , sweet cat who died of a stomach tumor at 3. He was Eeps half brother

Gorgeous🥰🥰
Have to say that it was because of HHO that I got my two dogs Weatherbeeta fleecy coats , and it was such a good idea that I had never even thought of before. They are so happy and snugly in them , and also look really silly!

I discovered Equafleeces through here :D

Cat is asleep and I can hear her purring from the other side of the kitchen. She seems to be in kitty bliss!
