Heated Gloves

MY OH suffers very badly with cold hands in winter, he doesn't have Raynauds, and in summer has no problem. A couple of years ago I got him some heated gloves from a company called Primrose, but the battery, which wasn't supplied and was brand new especially for the gloves, (non rechargeable) didn't even last for 2 hours worth of mucking out on the first day. Neither of us felt that in fact there was any real heat gain from them. Due to other things going on at the time I never quite - well never ever - got round to complaining about them.

This year I want to get him some more, the weather has changed and his hands are cold again. Don't want the pads you slip inside that are put in the microwave, but I have seen some that say they last 5 hours and batteries recharge.

Has anyone experience of these at all, are they not really up to it, just an expensive 'con', or are they worth the money? Thanks for any input.
