I'm considering buying one of these saddles, I have 2 arab mares both sort of "bell shaped" in cross section LOL very well sprung ribs but not "barrels".
Does anyone have a foenix saddle?
Are they as good as the advertising appears?
Thanks.

You'd be better to ask this on Heathers website Enlightened Equitation. I know peeps on there are fansof Heathers but they still have bought and have used the saddle..

I've been told that the Total Saddle Solutions (Ansur) saddles are much better quality and a better fit than the Heather Moffett ones. I've ridden in the Ansur ones and the difference in my horse from a treed saddle was amazing! They dont roll and I jumped in one without it moving an inch. They also offer a payment plan so you dont have to fork out the whole lot at once and you can also rent them to try (but you need to provide a hefty deposit). Not really much help I'm afraid...

Where are you from? If you are near enough I could bring mine ( 17" gp with suberpanels) for you to try.
I looked at the total solutions and wasn't impressed with the quality tbh. I love my HM.

I live close to Heather & my husband is her Vet! her saddles are super, she has spent a lot of time watching her pupils ride and used this info to design a saddle that makes the riding position become more natural for the rider it also allows the horse to move freely & more comfortably in her saddle.

Not sure who told you that but I'd have to strongly disagree

All Heather Moffatt's saddles are beautifully made and heavily trialled and modified before she puts them on the market. As I understand it she had some huge legal problems with Ansur a few years ago because of design issues (can't say anymore on here as I don't want to break forum rules!). I wouldn't buy anything off Ansur! But that's just me. I do have a Fhoenix which is brilliant but not ideal for what I do (endurance) and for my horse so it's for sale but I'd whole heartedly recommend them.

Have one on my xxxx-wide cob (who you can just see in avatar wearing one) as nothing else I tried allowed room for his mas-hoosive shoulders.

I also have two of the earlier SBS models, one of which my 33 year old, sack of bones arab wears BUT he does have a suberpad under it because of his high withers.

Beautifully made, lovely leather, wouldn't swap the cob into anything else. Not right for every horse though but you can get them on trial for a week which I'd recommend.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I have a HM seat saver and find it fantastic but theres theres only one queery really, regarding the sadle, i'm worried about pressure points from the stirrup bars when doing trotting and cantering for quite a long time. I do like to do a bit of endurance competitions occasionally and long distance hacking generally.
Does anyone have any experience of doing endurance or similar such as hunting with HM saddle? pm me if you like.
Thanks.

Unable to reply to your pm nuffield it won't let me. I am not in your area though. Sorry.
