Hi

was just wondering if any of you have one of these seatsavers and if so how do you rate them? I have a wide cob who is quite spooky and was wondering if one of these would help me feel more secure in the saddle as I can sometimes feel a little "perched on top" of him. All replies gratefully recieved :)

I'm not sure if it would make you feel more secure but they are very comfortable. The material is quite grippy as well which helps you stay in one place and you almost sink into the seat as they are made of memory foam. They are quite expensive brand new (about £50) but you can pick them up second hand off ebay, I've got one on there at the moment.

I have one and I really rate it. My mare is quite a chunky girl and very spooky, so we can go to jumping sideways 4ft or the most spectacular 180 degree spins :) It can take a day or two to get used to it but I'd be lost without mine.....also brilliant for long hacks, no more achey seat bones.

Ditto this.
I got mine secondhand. But if you really feel perched perhaps you need to consider getting a deeper saddle.

I had one and hated it.

You feel more perched if anything. And I found it made the saddle more uncomfortable - seat bones were better but the seam down the middle scrunches up and causes rubs where there most definintly should not be rubs!

That sounds painful Kalibear!

I have one and I love it.

Montysmum, Do you have a friend who will lend you one so that you can try it?

I bought one recently and love it. Made a lot of difference in a good way.

However, if you are feeling 'perched' now then I think you might feel even more 'perched' with one of these seat savers. As someone else said, maybe try a deeper saddle.

I got mine from the equestrian clearance website but it was about £55

got one, used to be very useful for when I was sharing horses as made very saddle comfy, however with the last horse I shared it rubbed the saddle seat quite a bit so the owner wasn't happy
since I got my own horse, I have had a Wow saddle fitted, which
a) I am finding comfy on its own
b) is too expensive for me have the option of rubbing the seat off.
that is why the seatbone saver is a bit wasted at the mo.

has anyone else had their saddle rubbed by HM seatbone saver?

Wouldn't be without mine - it shouldn't make you feel "perched" unless the saddle isn't right for you, as it is compressed in the right places, and supports you in the "others".

I am in a minority but I had one and I hated it. I didn't find it any more comfy than the saddle. I now also have WOWs. The deep seat dressage is superbly comfortable. The jump is not!
