The grass is growing like crazy here as well- good for hay, but a total nightmare for laminitis. I had to bring mine off the grass altogether for a fortnight because she went pulsey, but the grass has grown so much in that fortnight I've been having to literally inch them back into the field ?

Rode this morning and managed to sunburn my arms. Gave B a full bath when we got back to the yard and put him away in a nice cool stone stable. We are lucky that the airflow is so good and DP is usually the only one who sweats but he would sweat in the Arctic so nothing new there. They were fed at 4 and I will go down and put them out about 7.30 when it has cooled down a little. Although I hate the heat having no grass has meant that DP can at last go out muzzle less without fear of his insulin going through the roof so I am grateful for small mercies.

This is when we have the payoff for having rain for 11 months of the year, didn't get above 18 here today with some light drizzle in the morning.

I also much prefer autumn and winter. My girl has cushings so always fearing the spring grass and then summer it’s a never ending fly battle and buying gallons of power phaser and fretting whether she’s too hot, nothing wrong with 20 degrees or so but 30 is beyond a joke. Autumn and winter yes there’s mud as she’s naked most of the time but all that does is take me more time rather than cause her to be uncomfortable.
