Just taken a lovely little kids pony from our local sanctuary on and she's been fine out during the day in a night in a well ventilated stable, knew she may have a wheeze from time to time as thought to have an allergy but last night we had a bit of an 'asthma' attack. Have no idea what brought it on other than that the pollen count was high, I was up with her till 2 am just watching her graze & slept in car.. Gave her some ventapulmin, was much better this morning, no wheeze, still breathing a little reaper than normal.. Any advise much appreciated, looking at the local herbs does anyone use or recommend? Looking at pollenex, wheeze And airways plus.

Anyone use any supplements? I've just that the naf 5 star boost works wonders?

Hi Ginger Bear, my pony has a pollen allergy and I have gone through the whole range of 'supplements'.

I tried herbs from Equinatural this year and while the weather up to now has been cooler this year and this helps I have been amazed that my pony, a) is not wheezing b) is not coughing c) has a normal respitory rate and is the best he as been for the past six summers.

Hope this helps

Well they just gave her ventapulmin but it wasn't prescribed for her, they just gave her a but to prevent her wheeze as & when she needs it. They said to me to try what I thought not like trial & error to see what works best! Will def look into equinatural., & going to take her to a vet I use in newmarket. To b honest I think it's copd not just an allergy like they said, I'm happy to manage it as she's adorable.. Was back to normal today, hacked out today & we used a nose net.. She so enjoyed it bless her. No wheezing, puffing or anything after.
