Heavy feed bucket/containers for field kept horses

At the moment i use a normal plastic bucket in a car tire, but i've now had enough of traipsing around the field looking for them when they blow away!

I know a rubber skip bucket would do the job, but i have two horses and i make up 3 feeds in advance so they are a bit too costly.
Ideally i would like a solid bucket/tray that stays in the field just to chuck their feed into for them.

Any ideas/Blue Peter suggestions? What do the rest of you use? Cheap as possible the better!

Brick in the bottom! I use 2 concrete breeze blocks in my hay container....

I saw one advertised the other day which was a shallow rectangular tray with a 'leg' protruding from each corner in the same plane as the bucket if that makes sense, so that it did not tip over. I can't remember where i saw it but somebody else will have seen it too - may well have been last weeks Horse and Hound.

Try sheep trays (or whatever they're called) the galvanised ones - they are pretty sturdy. Or keep an eye out for the round pig trough (look like a mexican hat).

Or, if you have solid fencing use the over door buckets or clip on buckets?

Buckets were defiantly across the field tonight, and adding extra rugs resulted in me being covered with them too!

If you have a farmer nearby ask for the sheep lick tubs, these are heavier than buckets and fit much more snugly inside tyres. I only have a handful of sheep but get through these quite quickly so have a stash of them and they stack like buckets too

You can buy a special feed bucket that fits inside a car tyre, it has to be extremely windy before these blow away, then you could just tip your fresh feed into the tyre feed bowl. I do think that the heavy black rubber ones are worth investing in though, they last for years and years. What about one of those and you tip a fresh feed in made up using your existing buckets?

We use the purpose made buckets which fit into a tyre from Robinsons etc. I've used them for years and never broken. I make up feeds in advance too, using supplement tubs - free! Easy to tip ou into the manger. I also have some mangers that hook on to post and rail fence. They are rigid plastic with metal hooks but do eventually break.

Have you ever thought about just tipping the feed out the buckets onto the floor?? I'm pretty sure ponies would still eat it all and there would be no buckets left out to blow away!
