Now i know there will probably be more interest than usual in heavy horses after the Martin Clunes show so i'll ask again.

Would anyone be interested in going to Cumbrian Heavy Horses for a ride?

I try to go twice a year..though only managed once last year..grrr.

The plan is as follows.

Friday arrive at hotel/chalet/cottages.

Saturday go for either farm ride..for less experienced folk..or beach ride for those with a bit more skill.

Saturday night..party time.

Sunday head home.

Who would be interested? Please feel free to pm me if you are.

It does take a lot of organising but the more the merrier..and slightly cheaper with a group booking.

And believe me..Galloping along the beach and playing in the turbulent waves on a Cumbrian sea front on a Clydie is simply awesome.

It's just too far for me for a weekend, however if anyone is thinking about this then I can highly recommend!
I went for the beach ride with a friend in October 11 and we had a brilliant time, I'm only 5ft 5" and felt so small on my enormous shire but the feeling of galloping along the beach was amazing.

I've ridden Irish cobs on a beach in Ireland and it was great fun. They dont have the same height but they definitely have a substantial girth. I've seen the clips on YouTube and was really impressed. I might be interested depending on when it happens.

There is also Adventure Clydesdale near Bodmin for everyone in that local, it's kind of an off shoot of Cumbrian Heavies in some ways. He is in the process of moving though.

I believe its the ex of Annie at Cumbria.

Tim is his name..ridden with him a few times.

Bit too far for me too, but would be interested to know if anyone knows of any in the south/south east? Didn't realise such places existed until today!

I used to ride a shire stallion and it was the best feeling ever.
