Just bringing our huge beastie back into work and he needs some new tack - last time I got some made for him, but does anyone know where I can get some "off the peg". He needs an XXL bridle and at least a 36inch dressage girth - but bigger would be better

He's a 17.3 Vladamir - which is a Russian heavy draught horse - and weighs 1 tonne

Have you tried Ephalump Circus Supplies?

Sorry! I too have a big boy (18.1hh and 5 yrs old). I have to have his bridles made to measure as I cannot get off the peg either. Will follow your thread with interest !

Hiya I get most of my tack from ebay. The big lad is a 16.3 clydesdale cross. He takes extra full in bridles and reins. His saddle is extra wide and his girths are between 58 and 60 inch depending on which I use leather or comfort one.
He weighs around 850kg approx, may be bigger as weight is estimated.
I have managed to get both new and secondhand for him. Saddle was just over £150 with postage. An english leather coleman croft saddle really good nick. Bridles were from various sellers. Got a synthetic one the other day. An extra full ( brand new) leather look bridle with reins ( is it hydrophane, I think they call it?) for £15 including delivery. Other than that have not paid any more than £20 for bridles for him either new or secondhand.
It is worth having a look on there as I have noticed some sellers with shops have started specialising in small sizes and extra large too which is very, very handy.
Good luck, and it sounds a lovely horse btw too

Bless him - but your big lad is a mere pony compared to my huge chap! Will let you know how I get on with outsize horse fitters!

I get bridle as seperate. If it hels the headpiece on robinsons the requisite one comes up a nice size. The browband too is nice and roomy, I normally buy xfull but wanted something a little extra room available for hacking etc and it fits with PLENT of room on my lad.

He is a awkward Suffolk x Cob
