Hello,

Does anyone have any pictures of a horse been heavy on the fore and pictures of light on the fore. Ive just had a cc done on another forum, and was told my horse looked heavy on fore. ( im a little dissapointed as i thought we were doing ok :( ) , however i respect the honesty. Can anyone tell me the best way to make him more lighter.

I dont have any photos but anything that engages the hindquarters will make the horse lighter in front- gridwork, raised poles, lateral work, transitions, hills out hacking, etc.

Some horses are conformationally downhill, so there is a limit anyway.

Other considerations are make sure you have a light, even, elastic contact. Dont try to hold the horse up. Make sure you are balanced. And of course bit/saddle must fit and be suitable.

Oh, and it also takes years to train a horse to carry weight equally on all four legs, so don't despair- its a long journey!
