Hi, I'm looking for a Heavy weight stable and turnout for my cob as he has managed to kill his shires rugs. Just looking for opinions on best makes? He is a bit of a rug destroyer. Also it must be full neck and not detachable. Thanks :)

Premier Equine survive my cob, his scratching habit and the "love" he receives from my youngster trying to get him to play.

Sounds like a similar set up to us, my cob loves a good scratch and my welsh a companion pony tends to hang himself of his rugs. Is it the premier equines that have the rug liners? or do they do rugs that are just one rug? I'm not sure I could cope with putting on multiple rugs at 6 in the morning to turnout lol. Thanks :)

Sounds very similar! My cob is clipped right out for hunting, he lives in his turnout and is always toasty warm. They do liners and all sorts, but as M is generally quite warm he's never had more than the h/w on. They have a sale on at the mo too!

Rambo's are the only rugs I have found to be indestructable. I use the liner system and they are joined to the outer rug so are not really any extra hassle to put on in the mornings. I find PE turnouts too heavy when they are wet.

I am a Fal fan and would try not buy another - I did by an Amigo 2 years ago but its cr4p and leaks badly already never again.

Thanks for all your replies. Do you know where you can get Fal rugs? I had one for an old horse but you don't see many of them around these days and it was a tough rug. Does anyone know who stocks them?

I'm another Rambo fan - l've still got my first rambo turnout although it was expensive at the time it's now over 10 years old so to me doesn't owe me a thing. However my daughter's NF pony ripped her townsend NZ rug in October which was 5 years old so l purchased two masta rugs (a medium & heavyweight NZ). Over the years I've had a variety of different makes of rugs but find mine have been great with Rambo, Rhino, Masta & Rhinegold rugs.
