Hi, Can anyone reccomend any cheap heavy weight turnouts?
300gram plus, and as cheap a possible

derby house have an offer on their 360g? rug is on sale with free fleece and also the mw which is 300g for 40 quid, so if u didnt want a hw with too much filling could use that as a hw i suppose depending on what type of horse you have

Advertised as a MW but is a 300gm so I'd class that as HW. Best T/O combo I have.

Did you have to order a bigger size? have heard that derby house rugs are a bit smaller than actual size xxx

I had a very similar one last year from DH, advertised at MW but was 300g. My TB mare (who was a rescue last winter & very underweight) got through the winter quite happily wearing just that so definitley what i'd call HW rather than MW. She was out for around 9 hours in the daytime and stabled at night. Fits perfectly in her normal size No rips or tears either, it stood up to the winter well & i'd buy another if needed.

My other girl lived out all winter in hers and was plenty warm enough. One does have a rip in it now but only after her particularly aggressive neighbour got into her field and lunged at her all teeth baring
