I'm on a budget and looking for bargains :) I have a cold wimpy thoroughbred that seems to hate winter! :p Looking for cheap heavyweight turnouts, if anybody knows where I can find some??

I always seem attracted to the nicely coloured flashy expensive ones...

I've just bought the maverick 1600 denier heavyweight from Robinsons and its fab!! it was about 50 quid and looks just as good as my more expensive ones...

Amigo are OK for the money.

Also try Ebay. I bought a second hand Premier Equine one (70g with detachable neck) recently, used only a few times, washed/reproofed, for £35! It's fab and was a bargain. That rug is about £100 new.

I would go for a online trip to Robinsons or going to a search engine and typing in equine clearence and a huge selection will be in front of you.

I would invest in a vest aswell to stop rug rubbing. (You dont have to but i am a bit of a horse hypocondriact)

I'll have a quick search, I love rug shopping. :D

I hate it! Every nice cheap (ish) one I've found is out of stock in 6ft6. Grrr

If shopping fails.. Got a couple of second-hand ones on my eBay watch list!!

....Thanks for those! You are a good shopper!! :D:D:D:D Ginger would look rather nice in that red one :)

I've just bought the heavy weight Swish one (with neck) for £89.99 following recommendations on here. Havn't used it yet tho (too warm!) so can't report back!

If you do buy a cheapy just make sure it's a decent denier (600 is very thin for a winter rug and won't last long) and breathable :0)

Definitely look on Equestrian Clearance as you can get expensive brands on there for quite reasonable money. I would recommend either Weatherbeeta (even Saxon if you have a skinny horse) and Mark Todd, which are often on great deals on there.

I would recommend the rambo supreme. Best rug I'v ever had, expensive though but a second hand one would be a great buy!! Also Amigo are good rugs, particulary for tb's as fit so well. weatherbeetas also fit my tb well, without the gussets. Cheaper still are Ruggles rugs, good quality and cheaper as she cuts out the middle man.
