Looking for help if possible... My 19yo gelding has developed swellings at the back of his heels..it's spongy, almost like a continuation of the frog and when I scrubbed it, some pieces came away. Also on one leg there are holes in the swelling where there appears to be a touch of moisture. They don't smell particularly bad but there is some heat. Also his legs are a bit puffy at the fetlock although this isn't unusual for him.
I'm thinking this is probably a reaction to the extremely wet weather we've had lately (Scotland!) as its all 4legs but would be great if anyone else has experienced this and can advise best treatment etc.
If someone could tell me how(!) i'll try to attach pics..
Many thanks!
