Heels down, toes in? toes out?? Does it matter and why?

Just to throw in a cat amongst.............western riders ride toes out!

Wish someone would tell my Western Instructor that))

The feet only tend to be turned out when you want to stop at speed so the leg contact comes away...i.e. sliding stops.

My lessons seem to be filled at the mo with "very good but watch your toes and heels"
