Just a light hearted post for a Wednesday afternoon, out of interest:-

Do you spend more on a full set of horse shoes than a pair you'd be buying for yourself?

Do you buy a pair of heels as often as you have your horse shod?

In the last year, have you spent more on your horses shoes than your own footwear? (this can br any foot where you have bought)

Smiley is completely irrelevant by the way to the subject, it's just there because I like it. :D

My horses shoes are £70.00 every 8 weeks and my shoes are about £15.00 every 6 - 12 months. OMG how sad am i.....:D

I spend more on there rugs than my clothes

I spend more on creams and potions and then burn in the sun because i didn’t get any sun cream.

The list goes on, the top and bottom of it is that my horses get everything they need (and some things they don’t) and i go without.

Must be love!!

BFG that is shameful, almost as bad as me.

My OH bought me my last 3 pairs of shoes because he was sick of me wearing my old scabby worn out things, last time I bought some shoes was last summer :o

I don't buy any wrinkle creams anymore, yet I buy supplements for my horses skin and coat :o

Ditto BFG, I spend more on Dylan's shoes than I do on my own, and my most expensive shoes are - of course - my riding boots lol!

:D:D

I think if i had the money to buy both i would but i don’t so i have to prioritize and I wont die if my feet don’t have Jimmy Choo's on them but my horses will suffer if their feet aren’t looked after.... simples.

We are all as bad as each other i think.

Yep my riding boots were more expensive than 3 shoeing however they have lasted much longer than 6 months.

Lol! I was just moaning about how unfair it was that my horse gets new shoes every 6 weeks :D

BB gets 4 new shoes every 6 weeks at £68 a set. I get a new pair every 12 months at £40 a set!

I think I just about pay more for my rent and food than the horse's, but there's not much in it :p

I honestly cannot remember the last time I went shopping for myself.....yet can distinctly remember spending a fortune on various random bits and bobs for the neddy in the tack shop the other week, that in reality, he didn't really need.

He even goes out more than I do! Last time I went to visit home was xmas :/ Yet he's been out on rides, shows, etc...

Hmm. I think I need to re-prioritise my life somewhat!

My boy has worked his way through approximately £728 worth of farriery in the last year. that is enough money for:

one of these: http://www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/c5698/4768/category/
with enough left over for one of these: http://www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/c5490/4692/category/

or some of these: http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/78780 :o

I have bought myself, over the last year: a pair of flip flops, a pair of wellies and a pair of riding boots (ebay). total cost: £70

My non-horsey friends think it's ridiculous but, no foot (no shoes?!) no horse!!

Think it's more about time than money for me...I can find the time to get the chiro out to my horse but can't squeeze in a visit to her for myself (same Chiro, equidistant from yard and home!!!), ditto the shoeing, but don't have time for shopping.

I've not got many pairs of shoes, but seem to have lots of riding boots, and about eight pairs of cowboy boots...but they get worn for everything - work, nights out, down the yard occasionally!

If I wear a dress, it's for a wedding or similar, and most of my everyday clothes are from Tesco or Sainsbury's. Madam meanwhile has an extensive designer wardrobe...by Horsewear, Mark Todd etc!

Is it worth it, 1000 times yes, but I guess I'm lucky to have an OH who is also into horses and doesn't really care what I'm wearing unless it's a special occasion!

No. I am not a shoe buying type of person. Last bought some jod boots in September (£40), other than that my previous purchase was a sturdy pair of black shoes for every day use two and half years ago in the sales (about £40). So my cost per year on shoes is a lot less than the ponies trims!
