Height - give me hope!

Just measured my homebred 16 month warmblood. He's *just* about 14hh. Mum was 16hh (it was her first and only foal) and Dad 17.1hh. He was born over a month early (was in hospital for over a week) and I'm worried he's not going to make the height I really need.

Interested in how much growth people see from around this age??

I would expect around 15.2-16hh. If the early growth was stunted they do often catch up with good nutrition

My Irish Sports Horse was about 13.3hh at that age and I was happy because I'd bought him at 5 months "to make around 15.2hh" so that seemed about right....

Long story short, he's now 5.5yrs and standing at 16.1hh and looks like e isn't quite finished. Imagine he will end up a decent 16.2hh + muscle.

14hh at 16months I'd anticipate to get to 15.3 at least!

Sounds similar to one of mine. He grew slowly and was diddy for ages, but has probably hit the 16hh mark aged 7!

My trakehner/tb was just under 14 hands at 15 months, 15.1 at 3 years and 16hands at 6 , I was panicking for a while but once she reached 15.1 I knew I would be ok as 15.2 is the perfect size for me
