If mare was 14.2 cob and stallion was 16.2 Warmblood how big would you expect her to make?

Breeder told me 15.2 to start with but now saying only 14.2 - 15hh
Thanks :)

how long's a piece of string, my 2 year old is now 16.1 out of a 15.2 mare by a 16.1 stallion, so going to exceed both of them! But both sides have bigger ancestors, so you do get throw backs!

How old is the offspring now and what height?

Breeder of my horse Mike reckoned he'd make around 16hh, maybe more, he's finally stopped growing at over 17hh, and seems an awful lot bigger than my 16.2 TB type. A foal I got years ago was meant to make around 12hh but never got to 11hh

Baby horses can be a bit of a gamble

There really is no telling!
Gelding early will give them extra height.

I bought a weaned foal out of a Welsh cob type mare about 14.1 X a TB stallion 16 hands. At four he was about 14.2. At six he was 16.2. All the time he was growing he was fed correctly so it wasn't a matter that he was badly done. He just was a late developer.

Shes just gone a year and about 14.1.

Loving the piece of string saying :P

rule of thumb is whatever height they are at 12 months add 2 hands to maturity, but my boy was 14.2 at 12 months, that gives him 1 inch of growth for the next 3 years!!! there is a string test that you can do, something about the length from mid knee to coronet band in inches equates to hands, again i did this and got 16.5 inches = 16.2 hh, which matched the first theory, so that's not going to work for my boy either!!!
