do the thing with the string - from fetlock to elbow is the same as elbow to withers when fully grown. legs grow first you see (so they can run away from those scary tigers that live in hedges!) ;-)

warmbloods aren't fully mature until they are 7 or 8 so you might be in for a shock!

Depends on the sire and dam too, but your looking around 17 hands I recon, ditto above, WB's grow in stages and are late developers (so I've been told) lets just say he's going to be a big strapping lad!

bye bye trailer...hello horsebox!

On a serious note though, do you think I may be a little bit over horsed?

I think shes going to feel big after V, but if shes wel behaved then it wont be a problem. Its when they start using their size against you that you have a problem.

My warmblood, Blake, was 16.1 as a 5yo, only recently remeasured him (after 11 years of denia and many funny looks from people when I'd tell them he was only 16.1) and he's 17hh. I'm only 5'1 and yes if he wants to he can be a handful, as a certain member of the Devon clique can confirm lol. I've been at my wits end with him several times and it's taken a lot of bottle to get through it sometimes.

If it cheers you up, although he isnt a WB, my lad is irish which are also slow developers (

) He was 16hh and half an inch when i bought him as a rising 4yr old, and has only made just under 16.2hh

He looks alot bigger as has filled out, but you may not get too much growth as she looks quite "balanced" already

I bought my boy last May, he was 2 turning 3 the month after in June and was standing at 15.1, he's now 15.3 and turns 4 in June but I personally think he's an immature looking 3 year old, still got a young head and narrow front and a weakish back end...whether that is age related or due to confirmation/parentage I don't know. Its really weird because he goes through stages, some months he looks like he's filled out and then other months I think he's grown and gone all gangly again, but he's not croup high. Not sure how much he'll grow to be honest....any ideas?

is the fetlock-elbow = elbow-withers thing always true?? If it is Flash has another few inches of growth

He's grown 3 inches in the last 18 months, and is 6 next month
