Height/Weight?

I just wondered what your opinions are regarding height and weight of rider for my pony - he's 14.1, ArabXWelsh/TB, up to weight. What sort of weight do you think he would be up to carrying comfortably? I do worry about being to heavy for him although people keep on assuring me I'm not - I'm 5'4" and weight about 8.5 stone.

He'll have no problems carrying you! Would probably be able to carry another stone without difficulty

You are not too heavy at all.

arabs can carry far more weight than most people realise.If your boy is up to weight as you say he is then he should easily carry you.I'm 5'6 and weigh 10 stone.I used to have a 14.2hh lightweight tb mare and she never had any problems carrying me at all so please don't worry.

I used to have an Arab/New Forest cross 13.2 and rode him at about 10 stone. He was a demon X-country and galloper so I doubt very much that he found me too heavy.

I find it unbelievebly sad that you're only 8 stone and worrying about your weight and even more so that a horse can carry you.

Flat race horses carry more weight!!
