I'm getting my first pair of clippers for Christmas and was wondering about the Heinger Handy Clippers?

I'd like to spend around the £200 mark, they need to be able to regularly clip and hog a hairy cob but I'm not too fussed about them being quiet or light as she doesn't mind being clipped. Performance is more important. How reliable are these? I'd like clippers that wil last me for a number of years (obviously assuming that I keep them serviced)

How funny u put this post on today, i got my first pair of clippers too this week supposed to be 4 xmas but mum let me use them today so i cud clip bud.
Anyways i was lookin around 200 i searched 4 days to find which ones wud be the best and ended up goin for the handy horse ones, i used them today and they where fantastic really smooth, no lines and easy to handle n quiet.
I really really like them, i thought they cut fantasticly and he WAS very very wooly n came off easily without having to go over it again.
I wud defo recommened them anyway, i searched everywhere and found farm care the cheapest and next day delivery.

I too have hairy cob who is hogged so lots of clipping and have heiniger handy which are great - was recommended them and can fully agree. Your hand doesn't get tired even after lots of clipping which I think really helps with the dreaded job - not overly big either so you can use for hairy chins and armpits!. Also I can fully recommend farmcare uk - brill price and service - also send my blades there for sharpening (easier for me to do by post than finding someone local and having to do two trips...) and they are lovely...they actually speak to you like a proper customer!

I've had mine over ten years and they're still doing well.

I've had a set for about 15 years and they are good as new. The only word of warning is don't run them without blades or with the blades under no tension as it completely buggers up the cogs inside. They did replace them for me free of charge under the waranty but sent me a good telling off at the same time!
