Reviews please? Especially on very nervous horse to clip. Also £200 for secondhand is that a good price?
Just thought I would update on my purchase of heiniger cordless clippers. I got them yesterday and decided to clip today. Put them on my pony who is fine to clip and she was brilliant with them, just did a bib on her.
I then went onto my lad who usually has to be sedated. I ad to put them on his shoulder without them being on and just do some desensitising. I then turned them on and he was still nervy but he settled. For some reason even though I knew he was 100% he just seemed so much more relaxed so I decided to try and do a bib clip. Turned out he let me!! What was even more shocking is his chest is his trigger point to either rear or go down on his knees and he was so good, had one tiny twitch but other than that towards the end of the clip he was stood without me even holding him. Big thumbs up for heiniger cordless clippers!
Nice to hear some positive results for the Heiniger Xplorer. I rate them highly from an engineers point of view. Tension is sometimes tricky to learn if not used Heiniger before but once mastered, they are quiet, cool and a pleasure to use. How did you get on with the tension setup?
Could you explain further please?
Op I've got xperience clippers because my good to clip horse was starting to get really stampy when I did her legs with lister liberties plus they are rubbish, and she is so much better already with the Heinegers, I'm very pleased I got them.
I want to buy my daughter some of these for Xmas... But can't seem to find a stockist ? Where do people get them from? Don't really want to buy off eBay..
Mole Valley Farmers have an offer on the Heiniger explorer with spare battery at £360 and also on the Lister Liberty with the Libretto Trimmers in the package at £320. I can't make my mind up !!
Could you expand on Lister Liberties negatives please as my daughter is currently looking at either Heiniger Xplorer or Lister Liberties and most people seem to rate both.
The plus about the Liberties is they have an offer on and come with a trimmer as well and are operated from a battery pack on a belt and therefore are lighter as you don't have to carry the battery.
Heiniger appear to be a little quieter and the battery, although making the clippers slightly heavier, don't have any sort of lead so might be slightly more manoeuverable.
Thanks
I've got heiniger xperience clippers and they are fantastic really fast and very little vibration making them v comfy to use. They don't heat up at all so I was able to fully clip my horse in half the time. I previously had the lister liberties and they were awful. Got really hot really quickly, vibrated a lot and ran at a much slower speed. I honestly don't know why people rave about them. I had lister neons before and they were bad as well.
Lister Liberty and Heiniger Experience and Explorer are very good. Both machines are selling well for us at the moment and proving reliable. The Heiniger is quieter than the Liberty, but the Liberty is shorter to hold and can get into tricky corners a bit easier. Obviously the Liberty uses Listers standard tension method....IE All the way down and back a turn and a half. (with the motor running) Whereas the Heiniger is different, wind down until the tension nut tightens, then another quarter of a turn, (again with the motor running) . We stock both for mail order and are worth a look if you are considering either machine. I cant put a link up, because Admin throw their teddy out their pram and threaten to ban me! (Even though my bosses actually pay to advertise on H and H!!!) So stick three w's and a dot in front of the words clipper and sharp joined together and add . and com at the end. Happy Clipping.
Oh PS with us you get a Libretto Trimmer, a Little Pico face trimmer, standard libretto blades, wide libretto blades and a free service voucher. Plus extras with the experience (Spare blades) And Explorer, second battery.
