Anyone know of any nice stallions for my 16.3 bay mare?
i am toying with the idea of putting her in foal.
i would like something around 16.0 - 16.1 but not sure if i would ever get anything that height.

i would like something for dressage really and maybe nothing long like helga is.

Then go into helga

thanks you this would be very helpful.

it says 'page not found'

can i ask why you are breeding? and im assuming you know all the costs/risks involved?

So do you want a dressage stallion then? im assuming a leggy one with a short back?

How much do you want to spend on the stallion?

Sir Donnerhal has a nice short back and is very leggy, altho im not sure on his avaliabilty over here at the moment as hes very popular in Germany so they are limiting him over here to proven mares only i think.

If you want a 16-16.1 out of a 16.3 mare, I suggest you look for a 15.2 stallion, there still won't be any guarantees of that height but it is possible.

Well, I do have a 15.2, leggy, short-backed stally - but he's a pure-bred Arab so probably not really what you're looking for:

Does have fabby movement for dressage, though...

What's your mare's breeding? I couldn't see the photo - could post it on here?

thanks everyone
her breeding is Broadstone west coutry and mum is Broadstone longchamp
i am looking for a warmblood really i not into arabs.
yes i know about the how much it is goin to cost but i have always wanted to breed of her as she is a stuning looking horse (my opinion).
No bothered about how much it would cost but not more the £2500.
i just would want something Over 16.3 as i am only small really lol.
<<<<< thats the only pic i have as i am in work and cant get onto my PhotoBucket.
will try and get on to night when i get home.

dont really know anything about him, he looks nice thought, has a nice action too.

You need to look at the faults of your mare, and find a stallion that will compliment them

does Helga have a really good and correct movement? Don't get me wrong she looks like a sweetie, if a bit 'upright' for me but if you are starting with something that already has conformational flaws and relying on the stallion to address all of them.

I have a lovely mare at home too, great to ride and handle and does all RC stuff really nicely, but I would never breed from her as the perfectionist in me sees the mild dishing and slightly cow hocked stance - the only one that has gone to breed is nationally placed in showing, which is as it should be for me.

The safe choice would be to buy a weaned foal, you could afford a nice one with your budget, then your girl can stay in work (breeding is a challenge, you can never be sure that they will even conceive and if they do, equine pregnancy carries risks to foal and mare)

Yes she moves really well. Her breeder is thinking of buying for to breed from but i not sure.
I wouldnt buy a just buy a foal as i want to breed from my mare so when she does gone *Fingers crossed* not now there will be a little one around. I dont what any Top dressage horse thats a world beta not horse is perfect anyway.
