Got an e-mail from the breeder of my new puppy to say he can come home on 28th September. I'm soooooo excited. She sent me some recent pictures after he has had a bath which he was not too happy about !

Lol!! , our snooty cat was absolutly horrified when we got Teddy and would spend hours glaring at him ! , he lies down practically next to him now , but if Ted gets too much in his face he will lash out , but Ted loves him

Bet you can't wait to get him home. I know we were counting the days until we got Evie. She is 3 and a half months now, time goes so quickly. Your pup is a really unusual colour, what colour are his parents? Remember we want lots of piccies when you get him. Mind you must post some more of my horror now she is growing up.

Yes he's a German Shepherd + long haired.

This is his Dad http://www.gentlebearsgsd.co.uk/Logan.htm

I've got photos of his Mum but they are on my computer at work. His Mum is Black and Gold/sable and they think he will go that colour. The lady who has bred him says that she went totally golden before she went to the colour she is now so who knows !!

We've spent a fortune on him already !! Just had a new floor put down in the room because cream carpets weren't really going to work !!

Will post loads of photos once he comes home !

MurphysMinder here logging in on daughters laptop as my comp has thrown a fit and blocked evrything with parental controls it won't let me remove. I hope I am not going to upset anyone here, and want to start by repeating that I think your pup is absolutely gorgeous, but his breeding is quite interesting in view of the current furore re the KC. About 25 year ago I bred a litter with 2 blue pups in it. Blue was not an acceptable colour under the breed standard then, and I think I am right in saying this is still the case. TBH we were advised to put the blues to sleep, but I don't work like that. However the leading geneticist at the time, both in GSDs and in dogs in general, suggested that I rehome the pups without papers, and ensure they were castrated so they could not be bred from. This I did and they grew up into gorgeous dogs who lived long and happy lives. My point is that now it appears that blues are being registered by the KC and obviously used at stud. If the standard hasn't changed it confirms that the KC are happy to take registrations nowadays that maybe wouldn't have been acceptable in the past.
Your baby is unusual for a sable, I have always found them to have more of a dark tinge but that is probably his dads blue colour coming through. Will be really interesting to see how he grows up. Once again please don't be offended by what I have said, it is just an observation , your pup is a real cutie
