Hi all,

I was part of this forum a long time ago but I drifted away (under a different name)

I very very sadly had to have my very special boy put down due to an ongoing injury which came I now own a 14.1hh irish cob gelding that I have had since June.

He is rising 6 yrs old and has done a little bit of everything since I got him although we haven't been out competing much at all due to lack of transport and just not being ready for it!!

We have been to dressage and showing and he did very well in both and I hope to start taking him unaff SJ in the new year as he is improving with him jumping all the time!!!

Anyway here he is!!

Welcome back - Sorry to hear about your loss. Your new cob is lovely though. Can I ask, are you quite small or he is a very full up 14.1!

I am debating whether to hog my cob. ATM his humongous mane hides how horrendously fat he is!!!! Not my doing I hasten to add, he has only been with us 10 days! I fear his weight loss plan is going to take some time.

He is infact a touch under 14.1!! He is 143cm. I am 5'4/5'5 (163cm)

I bought him with full mane and feather but he didn't have enough feather to warrant showing him as a traditional and I had my old boy hogged and it is so much easier to maintain!! I must say I do much prefer Paddy without the fluff!! He looks much smarter and tidier : )
 
he looks lots smaller there ! you do look small on him though, i thought he was huge ! At least i know i dont have to worry now, am going to ride a 14,1 cob for a friend, im only 5ft1 , so at least i know il look ok ! Mine are 15,1 and 15,2, so 14,1 sounded small ! :D

I could probably find photos of me looking big on him!! lol! He carries me fine though and he doesn't ride like a 14.1!! :)

He isn't even a full up 14.1 haha!! Although I am hoping he might make 14.2 but that is probably wishful thinking!!
