Hello my name is Ami and I am currently in the process of buying my first horse. I grew up with our own family horses and lots of pony club so this is very exciting for me!
Ok the horse has been found and I am head over heels in love.
Basically I am having trouble finding a vet to do his 5 stage check.
He is the Banbury/oxfordshire area and avonvale who he is registered with won't do it for that reason, west bar vets have told me that their vet will be on holiday next week and they have been very slow in getting back to me about sorting something. Hook Norton can do it so would like some reviews on them if anyone has used them before and if anyone knows of anyone else who covers that area it would be a great help!
He has a boxy front left hoof which so far hasn't seemed to cause him any problems at all. He was born with it and raced on it, also his current owner (he is coming from a private home) hasn't had any problems with it. I have hacked him out, schooled him and jumped him and he was forward going and responsive with no signs of discomfort but want confirmation from the vet really that there are not any serious underlying problems.
His current owner has been fantastic and lovely, plus she wants to see his new home and stay in touch so thats all very positive as well.
Anyway thats me and nice to meet you all!
