Hi Everyone
This is a long shot but it’s worth a try. As fellow dog lovers, I thought this maybe a good place . I am trying to trace the lineage ( or any info , I have no paper work) of our family GSD from when I was a young child.
He was bought from
Berridon Hall, Bradworthy Devon. The house changed ownership years ago as I did reach out to them also. I also had no joy with the KC as I have no paper work at all just memories ! And I know he was bought from the above house.
Any help with this mission would be greatly appreciated .
 
I am in Devon and got a GSD many years ago. She came from Jutone. The bit in iralitcs below refers. Tony Trant in addition to Jutone also ran GSD training classes in Plymouth and there were always a lot of dogs there. He would have known the other breeders in Devon. Obviously no use as he has since died but Sandra Tucker is still around. If you google "Jutone" I think they have recently stopped trading but it comes up with a FB page so you could easily contact. She would have known other breeders.


Jutone was established by Tony Trant who was joined by Sandra Tucker in 1976. Sandra continues to run Jutone since Tony passed away in 2004. Both Tony and Sandra qualified as Championship Show judges and Sandra continues to judge regularly.

If you could find out the name of the breeders at Berridon and possibly their stud name then Chris Hazell the GSD breed health coordinator would be the person to ask. We discussed the pedigree of my original dog and that was going back to 1974. She is a fountain of knowledge on GSD pedigrees.

I would suggest that you move your post (or repost) on the dog section on here. There are some with GSD's going back very many years and they may have some ideas who you could contact. Some horse people look at the introduction section but I'm not sure if all the dog people do.
 
A good suggestion from paddy to contact Sandra Tucker, but without paperwork it's going to be a tough one. How long ago was this, and do you have any other clues to help, a kennel name would be a great help, or was it just someone with a one off litter ?
 
How long ago are we talking? I know a couple people that were in the GSD breeding/showing scene in Devon that I could ask.
