Hello! Joined this forum to hopefully get some guidance on moving horses from NL to UK as part of a transfer of my permanent residence.

Lots of info online but most of it targeted at imports for competitions and sales. Not really much on people moving as part of their transfer of residence.

So hoping someone on here might be able to provide some more insight :) Either from personal experience or knows someone who knows someone.

Welcome to the forum, try the likes of John Parker or Peden as both are very experienced and highly regarded.
Unfortunately I've heard bad things about John Parker. And from my own interactions, the correspondence I have received from them has been very strange. I think they are better for when it's sales / competitions but don't seem to understand the rules around moving your permanent home.

I'm sorry you have heard 'bad things'. You need to do what's best for you.

I'm still very happy to reccomend them, only 2 weeks ago they bought back 3 horses from Italy for a good friend who was returning to the UK after 4 years out there. Very happy client, horses all looked good on arrival, owner kept up to date throughout.

This really surprises me to be honest. I can recommend them 100 per cent and they did a first class job of picking a horse up for me from it's flight from America to Amsterdam and then on through the Uk to me in Ireland, a few years back. Perhaps their reputation has changed but I have only heard very good about them myself. 😕

I have used Parker’s to transport my pony to and from Germany 3 times and they were faultless. The very experienced YO loading him for me as I had already left for England couldn’t praise the driver highly enough for how he handled him and I was equally impressed when he walked off this end. He hadn’t lost weight, he wasn’t sweated up and he looked as though he’d been on a 10 minute trip down the road not a 3 day journey.
