I would just like to introduce my self, I am Andrea, I live in York & I have just started learning to Ride at the grand age of 23 :D all-be-it of a oldie in terms of learning i get the feeling

I have been taking weekly private riding lessons at my Riding school, I think im doing well, Iv done three 1hour Lessons and i have nearly mastered the trot, I am taking the horse into trot and back to walk as and when i need to and also the riding instructor stays in the middle as i go round the arena using the reins to steer, Sorry if i dont know the exact terms for things!

So far I am feeling abit pleased with myself as everyone at the stables tell me im doing really well and a natural. Really happy as i dont think iv ever been a natural at anything, always took me longer to learn than everyone else in the class haha!

I am really enjoying it and my Hubby is so supportive, was him who gave me the kick up the bum to go and start Learning, I think i may owe him big time in the future :p

I have been reading posts today and yesterday, i cant believe all the bits and bobs you learn just from reading others posts :) I am eagar to learn as much as humanly possible ...Although i do get confused with alot of this horsey business!

Oh and Hello i forgot to say haha!

Welcome! Good luck with the lessons, you're never too late to learn (lol I sound old, but I'm 22) - one of my friends started at 32!

:)

Hello and welcome :D

I remember the days I had my first lessons, it was so much fun.

Horse are the most wonderful of animals, once hooked, you're hooked for life :D

Oh tigerlily12345 - my little filly is called tigerlily, do you by any chance have a horse by the same name ?

Hello and welcome. Glad you're enjoying your lessons, you must be doing quite well to be happily trotting after 3 lessons. The forum is a good place to familiarise yourself with terms and everyday life with horses. Don't worry about being confused, I've been riding for 45 years and still know nothing,(so my mare tells me....)
