Hi all,
As the title of this thread implies I'm based in Kent and pretty new to horses! I had a year or so of riding when I was younger in my teenage years but have left off for the past 14+ years. Since I've moved to Kent and settled into the area I decided to try and get back into riding and spending time around horses. It's been a bit stop-start due to COVID etc. and trying to find the right teacher. Recently this has got a bit harder as he's moved to a yard a bit too far away for me. I've been in the saddle for 7 months now and seem to be making good progress doing a bit of jumping, dressage gaits etc. I've been really enjoying it and want to keep going into 2022. I love dogs, cats, all sorts of animals, but there's something really magical about spending time around horses!
I've recently started my own business so now my hours are very flexible indeed, and I'd love to hear some advice as to what I can do to get to see more and meet up with the horsey crowd in my area. To be honest I don't know where to go or what to do to improve my knowledge, go to events if only to spectate, and meet interesting horsey people.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!
