Hi from me :)

A long time lurker, I have just posted my first thread response in Tack Room.

I had two questions, if I ever want to edit a post I have made, how do I do that? Ditto should I ever want or need to delete one?

I'm fairly computer savvy, but have had a look round and struggled to work it out myself.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Hi and welcome. I'm the wrong person to ask but I have an obvious 'edit' button when I use a computer which is on the 'like' quote line. More intelligent people will be along shortly.

Hi!

You can't delete threads, you can only beg admin to remove them or close them. You can edit posts for a limited time so you can delete the text but you can't delete the post. If your edit time is up, see beg admin above.

If someone has quoted your post you can't remove it. Don't write what you don't want seen in perpetuity, basically.

All helpful tips, thank you. I don't have an obvious edit button nor three dots - but maybe as I am new I haven't earned the edit rights yet. (I have picked up from reading elsewhere I also need to have posted so many times before I can set a picture instead of my purple 9...).

Thank you for the welcome, and I am sure I will get to grips with things soon!

Yeah some people will deliberately quote your post to make sure you can't remove it. 😬

You should have it straight away like below. I edit my posts about three times. I tend to post then read through and amend. You are meant to put reason for edit but crikey people know I edit nearly everyone of my replies, so it wouldn't come as much of a shock if I did write the reason.

See I've done it again and edited as my stupid phone thinks it should say 'you ate meant to' and not 'are' 🙄
