I'm a long time reader of this forum, but this is my firt time participating.
I've been riding for 20 years, mostly jumping, but now i'm slowly (slooowly...) getting into dressage.

Hi, with winter looming I am quite jealous, we used to have a villa up in the hills nearish to Albufeira and sneak off there for Christmas, bliss not to be freezing or soaked to the skin. Whereabouts are you? Have you always lived there?

We did consider moving over there but various factors decided otherwise, we went somewhere else instead, a lot colder

I am Portuguese and i'm from Lisbon.
Actually it has been quite cold, rainy and cloudy, but this week we are experiencing our Indian Summer, the "Summer of Saint Martin", perfect for the National Horse Fair in Golegã.
Albufeira is indeed a nice place to escape the cold! Did you get the chance to travel around a bit here?

Hi Lanyha, I will be flying into Lisbon and then getting the bus to Portalegre on the 21St September, any hints and tips, it will be my first visit and I know and understand no Portuguese, it is also my first travel abroad on my own where I don't just get of a plane into a car with someone I know so it is a bit scary...
Any help would be great.
