Just to say hello to all, I am rider with several New Forest ponies, and one 21 year old retired Belgian trotter, though there have been others over the (far too many) years. Looking forward to joining in discussions at some point!

Welcome to the forum.

Rare to hear about a Belgian Trotter - does anything distinguish them from a French Trotter, beyond the country?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Well she is 3/4 standardbred, and the other 1/4 may be French, it’s hard to tell from her passport. She is a trotter, not a pacer. So many different trots! She has been the best horse I have ever had, such a shame she has an arthritic knee now, plus coffin joint arthritis. That may be the trotting years ago.
