Hello

I've been on here a while as a lurker, hiding in the background after being warned that you are a scarey bunch! My good friend Ravenwood convinced me otherwise, and after posting on the All About Dogs bit, I can say I've had nothing but really friendly and helpful advice. So you're not the baddies you've been made out to be!

I had joined 2 other forums but hate to say they didn't really hold my interest after a while and only went on them once in a blue moon.

I am originally from Jersey, now live in the Scottish hills with my partner (shepherd on the farm we live on) and two kids, aged 8 and 5. I have a 31 year old Palomino mare, 15.2hh very cobby Heinz Variety. I have had her for 27 years now and she really has been with me through thick and thin. Her companion is a shetland gelding from the ILPH. He was at a stud farm in Aberdeenshire (not sure why they would keep a gelding..?) but the old man who owned the stud could no longer run it and the ILPH took all the ponies in. Diablo is a handsome boy and very well mannered, albeit partial to a quick pocket grab when he forgets himself

. They get on great together and he even comes in with her overnight in the winter

! I have the use of the old bull shed which is the short end of an old stone L shaped barn. I'm also lucky enough not to pay any livery, have the place to myself (more or less, give or take 1000 sheep), and also get free straw!!

We have 4 Border Collies, one of which is mine, the other 3 are working collies, but still very much loved and petted!! (much to OH's disgust, or maybe it's jealousy?? LOL).

And finally I have my 2 pet sheep, Seamus and Cuddles(

). If I can work out how to add signature pics then you'll have the pleasure(!)of seeing them all - bear with me though, could take a while!

I find most people on here helpful and suportive. Ofcourse you get the odd one who isn't but if you ignore them they tend to go away.
