Hi all, I've just registered on here!

After a long (too long) break away from horses I started riding again just before Christmas and cannot believe that I have left it so long! My daughter went on a few pony rides last summer and has been pestering me ever since about learning to ride, she turned 4 a couple of weeks ago and has just had her first lesson. Obviously I had to check out the riding school beforehand!;)

After feeling rather stiff the following morning I've been out hacking a few times since then, my first canter in about 10 years nearly made me cry as it made me so happy!!!

I'm hoping that in the not too distant future I will be able to get my own horse again, I used to have a beautiful chestnut Welsh cob gelding called Bryn, we had so much fun together, showing, jumping and generally horsing around! Prior to that I had a 12.2hh Section B who was absolutely bombproof and could jump almost anything you pointed him at!!

As well as my young daughter I have a husband (recovering from a catastrophic leg break whilst out on exercise with the Royal Marines) that is not anti-horse luckily and three beautiful pointer dogs that we show and hope to field trial in the future.

PS, if anyone in the Sudbury, Suffolk area has a horse that they need some help with please let me know!;)

Hello!

Welcome to the HHO madhouse.

I'm nowhere near you I'm afraid but would of loved some help with my young herd of hoolies!

I'm sure there are owners crying out for some help at this time of year so keep us posted as to your horsey adventures :)

Oo you sound very similar to me!
Got back into riding just before Xmas after a 5yr break and my 4yr old has his first lesson on Saturday!! I'm so nervous!!
My hubby has actually got in to horses a bit and wants to try it too! So it'll be the whole family soon...well my youngest is 5months so not that soon lol

Hello and welcome. :D

Glad to hear your enjoying riding again and your daughter is keen to :D. I hope your hubbie gets better soon lots of get well soon ((((((((((vibes)))))))))) being sent his way.

Hi, thanks all for the welcome!

My daughter's next lesson is on Saturday, she's very excited!

My Hubby actually broke his leg Sept 09, the first surgeon wanted to amputate his leg, but, many operations and months later he's kept it but probably will always walk with a limp and won't ever run again or be any use in the Marines, luckily for us here!;) He keeps rolling his eyes as I talk about horses but is preparing himself for mucking out duties LOL!!

Here's Issy at her first riding lesson!
