Just wanted to say hi to you all! Have enjoyed visiting this site for a while now so thought i should introduce myself. I'm 33, married with 2 children ( 5 and 2 ) and a 11.3 welsh sec. a. Very rarely does a day go by without me thinking why did i get a pony for the children and not a horse for myself!!

LOl, good question, also something i keep asking myself! I have a 6yo and a 2yo and a small hairy pony. Too much mucking out and no riding lol.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I live in east sussex (no snow here!) Katy: I know what you mean, you don't mind mucking out when you get a nice ride at the end of it but it does get abit depressing when you see all the others off on a ride and you are still sweeping the yard!! Mind you the smile on Annabelles face when she is riding makes it all worth while!!

Hi Lottie,
At least mixing with lots of horsey people albeit through your children might bring you into contact with horses which need exercising.....
Alternatively you have to wait till they're bigger and then get something to share

I'm about to pretty much give up riding this year to concentate on the children's ponies

Thanks for the replies. You're right i already have the offer of a ride at the yard. I'm just waiting until A, it stops raining and B, my husband is around to look after the children!!
