Just wanted to say hi as im new to this forum (and all forums in general!!)
I have a mare for 11 years called Annie, she is 21 and going through the menopause!! Never met such a grumpy horse (though most of the time she is nice!!)
She has 4 legs, no wheels (but is something to bear in mind for the future!)
Has never been hit with a vegetable stick (or any stick for that matter, goes plenty fast enough without encouragement!!)
Has 2 shoes, would have 4 but has decided she doesn't need any on the backs, prob a good idea as her latest trick is to try and kick me in the face whilst eating her tea!
And just loves to trash her rugs!! Then stand at the gate shivering in the cold!
Nice to meet you all xx:)

Hello all, welcome to the mad house - oops I mean HHO! Sounds like you'll fit right in lol!

What do you do with your grumpy mare? :)

Hot_Toddy7 hmmm, im not sure 'character' is quite the right word, is sometimes used but not normally at the moment we are having a 'small disagreement'!!
I used to do so much with her, she is my once in a lifetime horse thats for sure! (well, im hoping that falling off and breaking my neck will only happen once?!) She was a showjumper when I got her but had turned into a bit of a loon, not nasty just loves going as fast as she can and jumping as high as poss!! Not a problem im my teens, would do anything, team chasing, show jumping, handy pony and a bit of showing for fun
Then the child came along and kinda put a stop to that! Still do the odd bit of jumping, though I fell off last summer and broke my ribs (I seem to break easy, though I do have 'padding'?) so ended up just doing some shows later on in the year, when I could breath again! In fact, this face looks a lot like me in hospital  !!
Currently a happy hacker/pootle round the school pretending to go in an outline and tripping over occasional poles!!

hello and welcome, :D annie sounds errmmm, like a mare lol, ;) i wish mine would go through the menopause, at the moment she seems to be fitting in as many seasons as she possibly can and is spending most days flirting with anything remotely male:rolleyes: I've even warned OH not to look directly at her:eek:

Ibblebibble, i could never really tell when she was in season cos she was always a bit 'special'!! is a proper grump at times now, sulked last night cos i led another horse back to the field with her!! ears back all the way ;)
