Hello.. ?
My lovely 10yr old Cob, Ace, was diagnosed w COPD last August.. He recovered very well w good vet and 24/7 turnout on good grass. We had to go to a new yard (owner stopped liveries) last October.
New owner insisted on turning in @ night but, but he did have a stable beside the always open barn door, soaked hay @ night and good hay, rain or shine, on good turnout. He has continued to thrive through the winter months.
But sadly the COPD attacked again after 2weeks of very dry spell.
It wasn't bad @ first and I started him w NAF Booster for 7+ days but still coughing. Vet came last week and he's miles better after Steroid jab for the inflammation and ABX for 5 days..

But.. He has lost a fair bit of weight in all this and he's just not himself at all.
He's eating and on 24/7 now thanks to vet. The hay is soaked in the turnout paddock,.Still a bit of coughing, but less harsh.

So.. My question is how can I help him to improve.? I'm so sorry I didn't get the vet sooner and hate to see him so forlorn in himself.
He's eating well and I hand graze him a bit (occasional spitting out small amounts of grass) and light feed. (speedy beet and Top Spec lite and top spec all in 1)

. I'm just doing gentle lunging and light free schooling and a bit of simple ground work. I have ridden him for 15 mins, but his heart just isn't in it.. ?

Im worried ?

Thanks in advance.
