Helmet cameras

I have a original Go Pro 1 that I have had for years and normally wear when i'm skiing….. Ive never thought to use it when i'm riding- what a fab idea….. thank you (Go Pro are fantastic BTW, my brother has a mark 3 and i'm very envious though my mark 1 works very well indeed)

Oh hang on- all I need now is for my hacking/competition horse to recover from his horrendous injury so I can ride again (not going to happen but I can dream) LOL….. not much fun filming my other one just going round the school every time (she is too dangerous to hack out/jump etc)

My concern about this is the wording, I think it may be antagonistic to some people.

I had the same thought- its a great idea but I can see the type of motorists that disregard horses/riders anyway just being antagonised by this and in the end behaving even worse…. and there really are some horrible drivers out there…..

When my boy was a youngster I was out on the road and a massive HGV articulated lorry came towards us (on a road NOT designed for lorries- he shouldn't have been there in the first place) he didn't try to slow down and my boy panicked, spun and bolted back up the road- the lorry driver then thought it would be fun to drive alongside me as I was galloping up the road, waving at me out the window…..
I eventually managed to turn my boy up the grass bank and we stopped- even now a 6-7 years later he still hates load cars/lorries coming up behind him and he was great in traffic before that- can't say I blame him either.

I hear so many drivers main about horses being ridden on the roads BUT where can we ride- if they want us off the roads then there should be a LOT more off road riding made available….. none of us ride on the roads out of choice but we have no choice (especially round my way)

I have a GoPro and love it. Excellant quality but I have to have it set at lo res or it takes to long to upload the huge files! Also for road work I have just got this. Freinds say you can read it from a long way off and so far I have a lot of smiles from drivers not any abuse!http://www.safewhip.co.uk/

My concern about this is the wording, I think it may be antagonistic to some people. I also have the same camera and it is a £5-£10 camera that can be quite temperamental.

Gizapaw have posted on FB that they're doing another version which is the camera sign with the classic "Please pass wide and slow" message instead which, I think is a better idea! I do like the idea of a vest stating that filming is in progress but will probably get a better quality camera to be helmet mounted.
