my pony wears a hanging cheek french link snaffle, but I find she pulls and twists her head to the right alot and its very annoying when she does this.
Her teeth and back have been done recently but still have the problem, is there a different bit that I could try her in that is not harsh.

she did come in a myler comfort snaffle, but found it didn't fit in her mouth well and she'd chomp it all the time

I agree with Ginger_nut try a loose ring, horses cant lean on it as much as there is a greater amount of play than with a fixed ring.

the fact that your hoprse was in a myler could suggest that she does infact lean, as they cannot lean on a myler.

Hanging snaffles are used to encourage the horse to lower its head with the use of poll pressure.

Be sure to ride her with lots of leg and give her a good squeeze or little nudge when she starts tilting to push her forward into the contact. If you lift your hands very slightly and use lots of leg this should make is harder for her to lean (sorry to add this in as it looks as if I am treating you like a novice but, remember to reward her as soon as she stops leaning, tilting etc)

thankyou both of you

sheri its just been under 3 yrs of being back in the saddle after 15-16 yrs.
Loan horse was a laid back cob and so my pony is so much different to ride, I have started taking lessons as my instructor said I was riding like old school. So much has changed over the years in the way everyone rides today.
Maybe I should try her back in her myler bit and go from there. So maybe you can call me a novice

Samstar...Sophie didn't have a problem with her doing this so I do think you need to get you little leggies working rather than changing the bit
