Any ideas for getting an exracing TB to round and work over his back???

He has not got the best confirmation "cow hocks and VERY Croup high".

He can flex at the poll and come on to the bit but is still hollow over the back and no matter how much i try to ride him into the bridle to get his back end working it doesn't happen.

when you say lunging with 2 reins i take it that you pas one round the outside and round his bum??

Sorry if i sound thick lol

Also would i do this in a lunging cavesson or bridle?

Yes- that is right, one on the outside and around his backside. Both lunge lines should be threaded through the holes on the roller..Lunge in a bridle..

thank you will try it. Hopefully it might improve my dressage comments from "hollow over back" to "nice outline" lol

Yes, long reinig was how I taught my exracer how to work through her back, but I found that being an ex racer she had no topline muscle, but this helped with that. She went a bit nuts on the long reins at first so I put the outseide lunge over her back (I still had hold of it though, if you see what I mean) until she got used to it and then flipped it to around her bum.
