Hi all
I'm new to all this and would like to ask a bit if advise on my 6 yr old cob mare.
Its a very long story resulting in a diagnosis from Sue Dyson at the AHT
March 2011, escaped from field, possible down a ditch, cut to near hind cannon bone.
This appeared to be the only injury. After a week i got back on my girlie and she seemed lame on the near hind.
A weeks rest, still lame, rang the vet
Vet diagnosed a stifle ligament injury, rest and slow return to work.
Few weeks later, still lame but now bilaterally behind...vet baffled!!
Seemed to recover from this in time but not ridden. Entered show JULY 2011
Was told by the judge that Ruby was dishing...had never had this comment before.
When ridden Ruby felt very short and pottery in front and still strange behind, to describe it as skipping behind and laminitic in front would be about right!!

Neck was X-rayed and possible compression on the spine, xrays sent to a specialist who said no compression. In the meantime treated with steriods in case of inflammation.
Remedial shoes fitted, no change
August 2011
Bone scan at Newbury, slight 'hot spots' sacroiliac region and top of cannon bones. Was told that was normal for a young recently backed horse and not to worry
October 2011
Referall to AHT
Diagnosis, bilateral hind suspensory damage and bilateral lateral co lateral ligament damage in fore limbs
Operated on both Hinds.
6 months box rest for the fronts and then increased turnout
Left out until 6 weeks ago when I started in hand work, seemed sound in field and at walk long reining.
Seemed sound at the trot up in a straight line.
Result as of last night.
LAME!!!!!! On a circle for 3 circles, Sound for a couple of strides then lame intermitently on both front legs
Any ideas on where to go from here?
