Hello everyone,

I wonder if there are any good Aussies out there who could help...

I am moving to Bath and I am in the process of clearing out some of my old stuff. I found my old diary dated back to 1986 when I was a young boy visiting Australia. I still remember the very many people who were extremely kind to me. It's amazing to read all the stuff again for the first time in 27 years...

I would like to get in touch with these kind people and to thank them. However, I have a funny feeling that some of them may have moved and others would have retired.

How do I go about finding these good people? I know I can always write to the old addresses I have on my diary, but failing that, what do I do? I just google some of the names and addresses and the results mean very little...

I only want to find three people/addresses (one in Brisbane and 2 in Melbourne). Any thoughts?

:) :) :)

When my dad moved house he found a letter from someone who used to live in the house and had moved to Australia. It was decades old. He got in touch with a newspaper in Melbourne (think it was Melbourne), and the newspaper did a search for them and actually found them. Dad sails a lot, so he actually met up with the people while over there, and the newspaper did a story on it. Might be worth googling local newspapers?

honey08, thanks, i was actually trying to look them up in some telephone directories. but then again the phone directories (like the UK) are very much for businesses rather than individuals...

try white pages.com.au - residential telephone directory for the names.

Try the original suburbs and then widen search in case still in Melbourne/Brisbane but moved within that area
