HELP, boots won't buff!!!!

Hi guys, my short jodhpurs boots won't go shiny, I've been sat here for an hour scrubbing them stupid, their brogini (make) and I've been using kiwi kids easy scuff cover AND the normal kiwi... Has anyone got any tips, I have a dressage show soon :/ thanks 😊

Try kiwi parade gloss. Apply with brush, lightly buff up with another brush, turn a hairdryer on them and buff again with second brush and lots of elbow grease, polish up with up with a soft cloth.

Aparently nylon tights make leather shine up beautifully! Never tried it personally

Depends how shiny you want them! You can but you can buy a liquid that gives them a patent shin. My hubby uses it instead of bulling

Don't use scuff coat! It's matt. Use proper old fashioned polish with 2 brushes and a cloth. Then use parade gloss when you need to - it seals the leather temporarily so won't do the boots good in the long term.

Nylon tights work really well as a final buff. The best thing to do is to keep at it and build up layers over time - it's also much, much quicker to do if you keep on top of it (like cleaning tack!)

Ordinary shoe polish and as someone said two brushes, one to apply to the the boot and the other to buff!

Selvyt cloth is the stuff for bulling, you can get it online. Use Parade Gloss, put on a good but thin coat, allow to dry then dip the Selvyt lightly in water and buff in very small circles. Repeat ad nauseam. Not quite proper bulling, but it works well. Actually, you don't REALLY need the Selvyt but it does bring up a very nice shine.

Having serviced in the forces and having the requirement of polishing shoes to a patent finish. A few tricks of the trade was to apply the polish and leave it that state for a good few hours before finally polishing the boots off. Or for the optimum shine, using Cotton wool under a cold running water gently polish the surface of the boot using a circular motion to remove the swirl marks and achieve a mirror shine finish.
