Now that the weathers turning horrible again, soon the horses will be being brought in during the day to rest the field a little.

However, my big stressy warmblood has trouble adapting to being back in again. He just walks and will hardly touch his hay all day. After a couple of weeks he will settle into his new routine but he loses condition very easily so I want to try and minimise the time he takes to adapt.

I have started bringing him in for 2 hours a day, and will gradually build up the time he is kept in, but Im never sure whether this makes it worse as he is hanging out his stable all day waiting to be put back out. I didnt know if maybe just bringing him in and leaving him for most the day from the start will make him realise that hes in for the day and has to eat?

Also, I have thought about using a calmer to see if that helps for the first few days but know nothing about them as havent used them before!

Any ideas appreciated! :)
