I have recently moved from Somerset to Hampshire and I compete at novice/CCI* level BE. I am going to a lot of events alone as I don't know horsey people in the area and my husband and 2 young sons are not horsey.
Is there any one out there please who might be interested in spending the day at BE events and giving me moral support/company/help?? I have had a few replies but most people are not very local and /or work so can't do weekdays etc. I am hoping that if I know quite a few people who would enjoy this, there will always be someone free/local etc

Thanks Jenni

If you were doing Pre-Novice and coming a bit further East I'd suggest we join up as I'm in the same position as you, but I'm trying to avoid going into Hants now as I hate the lonely old drive on my own, and Novice events are usually on a different day to Pre-Novice. What a pity.

where are you competing, i have a few lined up, defo going to broadway (worcester) on 5 may.

Weather permitting this is what I am doing:
Aldon this Friday March 16th. Only PN run on my baby before going novice

.
Saturday March 24th both novice at Gatcombe (but already murmers that will be cancelled)

Wednesday 28th march both novice at Somerley Park (Hants)
Tuesday 3rd April both novice at Portman (Dorset)
I haven't entered anything else yet and as that is full on I will give them a rest over Easter school hols but need 1 more novice run assuming I get all those with young horse, so that I can enter 2 day novice at Chepstow on her. I think I will either do Hambledon or Nurstead court. If I have a problem with needing more runs because I don't get qualifying result or cancellations

, I may do South of England or both of above. Will wait and see. But probably I will rest older horse after the runs she will have had as she'll have done 3 and I don't need qualifications on her.

In 2005 I went to all but one of my events alone so I know how you feel.

Whereabouts in Hampshire are you? I joined my local riding club and met loads of people competing at BE that I didn't know about. There are lots of people out there who probably don't use this site, maybe getting to know people through your local riding club may help.

im just starting out doing p.n this season.Im southeast,so most events in surrey for me.happy to meet up and make friends with mad horsy women like myself!!!

Hello again

I'm never going to get past PN, but could meet up with you at Nurstead and S of E, although the PN and Novice are usually on different days, I think.

I always travel alone though usually meet people I know when I get there, so it can be a bit of a lonely old world. I'll pm you if I can remember how!
